| | C4 Named Affiliate of National Parenting Initiative February 2007 C4 has been named an affiliate of the National Effective Parenting Initiative, an umbrella organization of educators, child advocates and mental health professional dedicated to making healthy parenting and parenting education a societal priority.

Begun in 1996, C4’s Parent Education program reaches more than 300 low-income parents every year through classes, home visits and ongoing support groups.
In addition to C4’s affiliate status, program supervisor Katharine Bensinger was named to the NEPI advisory board.

| | Annual Report Wins International Design Award December 2006 C4’s 2005 annual report was honored this fall with a Daveys Award in an international competition sponsored by the International Academy of Visual Arts.
Designed by mc2 Communication Consortium, the publication won a silver award in the competition, which was judged by media, advertising and marketing professionals.
Mc2 Communication Consortium, founded by Chicago designer Michelle Crisanti, was honored with three other silver Daveys, a competition specifically launched to honor the achievement of smaller design firms.

Suicide is the eighth leading cause of death in this country, taking over 30,000 lives every year. The National Hopeline Network (1-800-SUICIDE) is the nation's only suicide prevention crisis hotline network linking certified providers under one phone number. Community Counseling Centers of Chicago, (C4) is the first agency to join the Network in Chicago and will assume responsibility for calls from the north side of Chicago beginning next week.
