To provide crisis intervention, deflection and home-based services for seriously emotionally disturbed children, adolescents and their families. Additionally, to intervene with an array of intensive, community-based services in an effort to diffuse the crisis, to support family members and to create a context for positive change.
To provide consultation regarding child development, behavior management, positive parenting, and other family issues of family life to natural and foster parents, helping professionals, community organizations and others.
To develop close working relationships with DCFS and DMH funded agencies as well as other C&A providers throughout the north and west sides of Chicago.
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related Social Science required; M.Ed, MSW or MA in Counseling/Psychology preferred.
BILINGUAL (ENGLISH/SPANISH) IS REQUIRED.
Expertise in child and family diagnostic assessment.
Expertise in family systems approach to clinical intervention.
Familiarity with roles and functioning of other providers in the network of children services with special emphasis on child protective, hospital, educational, and criminal justice systems.
