Chris Carroll, MS | President & CEO
Mr. Carroll is the President and CEO of Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4), a position he has held since June 2016. Prior to which, he was appointed the Interim Executive Director in July 2015. C4 is a comprehensive community behavioral health organization serving the Chicagoland area since 1972. A leading provider of clinical services, C4 is recognized as an innovative community mental health agency, keenly sensitive to the diverse population it serves. C4 serves children, families and individuals through its various programs.
Mr. Carroll has been with C4 since 1990. He began his career at C4 as a crisis worker for C4’s SASS program and later served as its Program Director and then as the Vice President of Crisis and Justice Services. The C4 SASS crisis program for children and adolescents is the largest in the state of Illinois.
Mr. Carroll has served as the Director of C4’s Adult Emergency Services Program, the Mental Health Juvenile Justice Program and the agency’s call center, as well as the emergency services on-call (overnight crisis service) team.
Due to Mr. Carroll’s comprehensive background in both adult and children’s services, he continues to lead the agency’s new initiatives and special projects, and has developed long term relationships with a large number of area hospitals and community agencies.
He has participated on many state committees and is a lifelong advocate for the wellbeing of adults and children suffering with mental illness.
Chris holds a MS in Human Services from Spertus College and a BSW in Social work from George Williams College.
