Kerri Brown joined C4 in February of 2021 as Chief Operating Officer and became President and CEO shortly after, in August of that year. Before coming to C4, he took on a number of roles in behavioral healthcare, including Chief Administrative Officer, Vice President of Operations, Director of Human Resources, and Associate Counsel. Brown is a decorated veteran, having served as an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers. Kerri earned his juris doctorate from the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and his Master of Laws (LLM) degree in real estate from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He is licensed and in good standing with the Illinois Bar Association, with certifications in an array of professional institutes and programs.
Patrick Dombrowski joined C4 in August of 2018 as the Director of Crisis Services and was promoted to Chief Clinical Officer in June 2020. He is an LCSW with a history of providing community-based services and program oversight for those confronting homelessness and populations with diverse mental health needs. Additionally, Patrick has significant clinical expertise in crisis intervention and risk assessment, overseeing crisis programs in both the community and hospital. He has a master’s degree in social work from The Ohio State University and graduated in nonprofit leadership from the Spertus Institute.
Laurie Mullin joined C4 in June of 2021 as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Office and Board Secretary. Prior to joining the team, she worked as an Office Manager at HealthSpring from 2004 to 2012 before moving to Combined Insurance as an Executive Assistant. Laurie is extremely detail-oriented and known for staying cool under pressure to make sure jobs exceed expectations.
Steve Trolinger joined C4 as a Business Analyst in October 2013, bringing with him over twenty years of project management, software development, collaboration, and business analysis skills. Steve’s responsibilities, knowledge, and skills have continued to expand in the years since, and his focus is always on seeking the best value and developing relationships with those who wish to partner with C4 to achieve our mission.
Gerald Muñoz joined C4 in August of 2021 as the Manager of Institutional Giving and was promoted to Director of Development and Marketing in March 2022. Here, he challenges narratives surrounding Chicago’s Black and Brown communities to foster greater investment and positive perception of the services that the underserved need to thrive. Born and raised in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood, Gerald studied at the University of Illinois at Chicago, earning a degree in history and microeconomics before bringing his skills and passion to East Village Youth Program and Gads Hill Center.
Katherine Maitha became the Controller of C4 in October 2020 and manages the Finance Department, overseeing daily accounting, grant and budget accounting, external audit processes, and maintaining policies and procedures. She’s also a member of our Finance and Senior Leadership Committees. Prior to C4, Katherine worked in various accounting, human resources, and risk management roles for private, nonprofit, and public entities and even owned and managed her own catering company.
Lara Pawlak joined C4 in 2022 with 14 years of talent management experience in social impact organizations, and a lifelong interest in supporting greater equity and access to critically needed services in Chicago’s communities and beyond. Most recently, she served as the Director of Talent Management at the Greater Chicago Food Depository, after spending 10 years leading talent, marketing and knowledge management functions at ShoreBank International/Enclude, a consultancy focused on inclusive approaches to international development. A finance MBA with keen interest in social psychology and organizational behavior, Lara brings an analytical and data-driven mindset to developing people-centric solutions. Born and raised in the Chicago area, Lara has a BA in International Studies from American University, and currently lives in Berwyn with her husband, two dogs, and extensive tomato and dahlia gardens.
